Dear Friends,
November is upon us - nearing the end of the year. A reminder about recycling - here is an elephant made from recycled plastic bottles! This first week-end brings the end of daylight savings time as well as the Day of the Dead and All Souls Day in the Hispanic tradition. November 9 is Remembrance Day at the Pine Mountain Buddhist Temple. On November 11, veterans are deeply honored. November 13 is World Kindness Day. And, of course, November 27 is Thanksgiving and the longest holiday of the year (2 days) in the business calendar.

CENTER ACTIVITIES
Regular Saturday 11:00 am Meditations continue. The Meditation Room is dedicated to peace as honored in all religions. Please call first if you would like to attend. The Center continues to pray for peace on earth and wellness for all living beings.

The annual Food and Blanket drive occurs at Thanksgiving, and items will be distributed to the Family Resource Center in Frazier Park. Donations are most welcome.

EMPOWERING READERS OC TUTORING PROGRAM
Ruth is encouraged that the 4th graders she is tutoring online are motivated to improve their reading. One has already finished her first little book.
ANANDA ASHRAMA
The beautiful Ashrama offers public services at the Temple in La Crescenta, CA on Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings. Recent ecological improvements there included removing the large shallow rooted eucalyptus trees between the Temple and the Mother House. There was a risk of the trees falling on the buildings in a large storm or wind. Also the hill in front of the Shrine area was reinforced with a new low wall (blending in with other walls on the property) to avoid any danger of the land sliding down beneath the Temple.
The Jizo Peace Center wishes blessing and peace to all!
